What Happens During a Heating Service Visit

We start by reviewing the symptoms and evaluating the equipment’s physical condition. Depending on the system, we may inspect the heat source, thermostats and controls, airflow, ductwork, vents, pumps, valves, piping, and heat distribution. We then explain the cause and available options, complete the work you approve, and test the system.

For hydronic systems, the assessment may also cover boiler pressure, water quality, circulation, and connected loops. Our technicians wear protective shoe covers, keep the work area orderly, and clean up before leaving.

When to Request Repair, Maintenance, or Replacement

A system that won’t start, repeatedly shuts down, makes metallic or grinding noises, blows lukewarm air, or can’t maintain the thermostat setting needs prompt attention. A complete loss of heat during cold weather may require emergency service because falling indoor temperatures can increase the risk of frozen plumbing.

The condition of your system helps determine the appropriate next step:

• Emergency repair: Request immediate assistance if the system stops producing heat, repeatedly shuts down, leaks, or shows another potentially unsafe condition.
• Routine maintenance: Schedule cleaning, inspection, calibration, and wear checks while the equipment is operating.
• Planned replacement: Consider new equipment when failures recur, repairs no longer make practical sense, or the current system can’t meet the property’s demand.
